Gday there, just wondering if anyone has heard of Powerful 4X4? They have a large range of products from roof top tents, dual wheel carriers and bits and pieces. Are they any good?

Hi,

have a roof nrack on our 80 series...been there for bout 3 yrs....had no major dramas...been across the simpson and such...only down side is the paint/powdercoat coverage is a little lacking in the tight spots....nothing some touch up paint doesn't fix.....overall happy...

If the powder coating being thin in the "tight spots" then it is exactly the same as ARB, but cheaper.
My 2 year old ARB rack is rusting in the "tight spots" as well.

I had a dual wheel carrier and the main issue was the lights globes melted the lenses, one call and new lenses and led globes were posted straight out. I think they use a complete led setup now.

A lot of my customers have their products and are very happy with them. Excellent value for money.

Hi all,

We bought a new (powerful 4x4) dual wheel carrier for our 06 patrol in sept 2010. We have just come back from our first trip with it on (christmas / ny). We had dramas putting the bar on to start with and got no help from p4x4. We bought one of the new release bars, and we had to cut a section out of the arm so it would fit around the rear door handle, and made other alterations so it would fit. While we were away, we did mostly highways this trip and only travelled a couple of dirt roads for less than 10km. The first dirt road, the catch broke off and flew open which made it hard to turn corners with the camper on. The road was in good condition - we had a onroad caravan travelling with us. My partner fixed it by welding it back together with 2 car batteries when we got to our camp spot. A few days later, the otherside's catch broke in the same way. The factory catches were barely welded more like pressed steel together. It was the D loop bit that the catch/handle clips onto when you close it. I am definanley not happy with this purchase and will be replacing it with an ARB one next time. We did do alot of research before purchasing it, but because we couldn't buy the old ones, we ended up with the new model one (which was dearer too), and i am really annoyed with their lack of service when we advised them that the bar does not fit. We obviously were the first ones to recieve the new one.
