Just saw this on the 6PM news. Might be a video somewhere.

This link may work better:

4WD Christmas lights display

I wonder how long it will take the authorities to stop this harmless fun.

Thanks VK. Thought proper hyperlinks were limited to members, now suitably enlightened.

Anthony Makaris told the news team that they had been doing the Xmas thing for 4 years now. Given the nature of the RTA in NSW one can only presume they have reluctantly approved it .

Way back some yrs ago, I was pulled up by highway patrol on Parramatta rd, Ashfield opposite Peak-Freens biscuits and the young constable asked me to take the Australian flag off my bike.

I said, You want it off, you take it off.

The sgt in the car said, psssst pssssst, hand-signal the constable over and said,

Look, he's not going to take it off and sure as hell, you ain't going to take it off, just give him a warning and let him go.

I flew my flag in two States over 6 yrs and hell will freeze over before I'd take that flag down. One of my best buddies even gave me a new one for Xmas, bigger N better.

That was a bit rough. But what was the reason he wanted the flag removed from your bike?

FYI the current aussie flag will be the one laid on my coffin (with my special Eels jumper) when I die. No other as I do not and never will recognise any other. No sunset or eureka flag nor any replacement.

Interested to know why he wanted it removed. The Sgt had some sense!

The constable said the flapping of the flag would interfere with other riders being so close, I said, if other riders were with-in 3' of my bike, I would personally kick over their bike, one wonders doin' 100kph with another bike 30inches away
