The bitumen access road to Wilsons Prom goes to Tidal River township, and a side road from near there goes a few km to a carpark below Mt Oberon. Beyond these points, everything is walking access only. By South Point, do you mean south to the Lighthouse? That is a walk that most people take at least 2 days to do - from memory, about 25km, each way.

Lighthouse is on S.E. point.

Sth Point is a detour and you could walk it along with the Lighthouse on an overnighter from Tidal River.Camp at Roaring Meg from memory.

Yeah that sounds about right Wendys. It is a long hike. It is an 18KM walk to the lighthouse, never done it, but pass by boat all the time. Refuge Cove is very pretty place, I have attached the official Parks Vic Map Reference with all the distances and track info.

In younger days I did the Lighthouse to the Telegraph Saddle car park in a day, and it was hot, hard and boring.

To get the most out of a walking visit, I'd recommend you do a loop, following the track on the Eastern side along with the track down the middle. 3 nights.

South Point is the southernmost point of mainland OZ. It is only accessible on foot. It is about a 15km detour on the walk to the Wilson's Prom lighthouse. The lighthouse walk itself is 18k's each way. It traverses a number of long and hard climbs. If you are a competent bushwalker, not a problem. But It nearly killed me (62 at the time and I thought reasonably fit). The tracks/roads are well formed and maintained. It is necessary to carry all your food with you for the trip. Overnight accommodation is available at the light house but has to be booked in advance.
