MJ,

One of our mates bought a Liemack at the Lucindale Field Days in SA in about 1990-01. Looked the ducks nuts!! For a start.
That's why they finished up in liquidation - after a coupla years.
Worst fridge ever built in my opinion to try and keep power up to.
And the powder coated cabinet rusts to bits after several saltwater fishing trips.

Sorry to bag your pleasure, and hope it keeps you happy, just our observations over time.

Have a happy Xmas
Regards Nick

Try a 25 year old Engel never had a part replaced or repair. We borrowed one once, the stainless catch was a bit dirty but hey, when it keeps our food and drinks cold for 25 years who cares about the catch....so good we bought one and 11 years later hasn't missed a beat...

The main problem was the power requirements and the price.....both high. That doesnt make them a bad fridge.Mine was $2000 in 1999, thats not cheap for those days but it has a freezer and a fridge compartment, something most other makers were still scratching their heads, thinking about it!! State of the art in its day! Michael

Hi Fred
Like the others have posted, it goes straight to Gmail.

We are running low on household fridge space, so we went down the shed tonight and dusted off our second 17 year old Engel. The sad part is it has not been turned on for over 5 years, and as usual the old Engel has not missed a beat, the compressor as quiet as ever and cooling down the drinks. It goes to show that no matter what some people same about these fridges, time is the test and it still works as good as the first day that it was turned on, well over 17 years.

Seasons Greeting and may all fridges last as long as this and I know that there are many older Engel's out there than mine and still working a treat.

Cheers

Stephen

G'day Stephen. Always good to some reliable backup in the shed when it's required. Ours is fired up as well at the moment to take the pressure off the house fridge..

I've put another link up for the original post, as I hadn't realised the 1st one didn't work properly.

Merry Xmas and I look forward to some more of those sensational photos you share with us all on here.

Fred
