Whilst it is flooding in other parts of WA and Aust we can safely say we have no rain problems in the SW. For anyone heading Sth take note -

Issued 1140WST 30Dec2010

A bushfire WATCH AND ACT remains in place for people on farms, in holiday accommodation and huts on the Donnelly River for a fire that is burning in D`Entrecasteaux National Park. The fire is between Ritter Road, Boat Landing Road, Cleave Road and Scott Road.

There is a possible threat to lives and homes as the fire has crossed the Donnelly River. For people not based in the Donnelly River huts, you need to leave or get ready to actively defend. If required, people staying in the Donnelly River huts and any other campers along the coast should seek refuge on the beach. People must not attempt to travel by boat back to Boat Landing Road.

"you need to leave or get ready to actively defend."

I have been listening to the warnings on the ABC all day and began to ask myself if I had a fire escape plan in place if I was down there.(as I often go to Yeagerup beach , Jasper beach and Black point etc)
The scrub is quite thick in places.

What plans do others have that they are willing to share?

Might be a good opportunity to discuss it...you know 4WD'ing, camping, etc and suddenly the unthinkable happens.........FIRE!!!!!!!!
