sometimes the factory radio is lit when you turn on the lights and the wire that turns on the raadio light would be from the tail light system. You may have used this wire as an earth as its sometimes black.
Disconnect the wiring and switch on the lights then test the wire for power.

Cheers Matt

Hi Navara09.....I too installed a new stereo system and was not aware that I too had no dash or tail lights until I went to pick up a hire campertrailer some days later.....to cut a long (and embarrassing) story short somehow I had connected one of the power wires to a "green" wire ( in the harness ,I must had thought it was something else) which turned out to be an earth and so as soon as you turned the lights on the fuse would blow.
I must have pulled that thing out 20 times BEFORE I saw what I did.

Just go through it all carefully and check off each connection or even disconnect them and replace the fuse, turn on the lights, to check that, that is where the trouble is and then reconnect them back up one by one to see which is the problem wire ( at some point the fuse will blow again) and then try to find out why.

Process of elimination my dear Watson. Hope this helps.

Another vote for connecting the stereo earth to the vehicle stereo lighting wire.

Try disconnecting the earth from the stereo, then connecting the stereo earth straight to the metal frame of the dash (do they still have metal frames?)
