Hi Guys,

Just bought a Caravan in Cairns QLD. At present I can’t get through due to flood waters like most people.

I’m some 1800klms away and have priced some transport company’s to transport the van from Cairns to either of the above mentioned locations. I am still receiving quotes as I speak.

I was wondering if anyone is in Cairns that might be travelling south to either of the locations anytime soon that might be able to be paid to tow my van for me.

It's a 20ft Coronet full van with electric brakes. Tare weight is 1050kgs.

Just hoping someone might be travelling south sometime soon?

If you don’t ask you do know?

Cheers
Andrew

Cant help you with the flood situation....but have an idea for transport. If you got it from a Dealer, ask if their usual caravan delivery driver is heading their way soon and ask the truck if they would do a "back load" for you. If they're coming back empty, a couple bucks in their pocket would be a bonus.

If you bought 2nd hand, perhaps find out who usually delivers the vans (most are made in Victoria, so the delivery trucks are out there).

We got our van brought down from Sunshine Coast to SE NSW - as a back load from the same guy who delivered to the dealer just a few months earlier. Cost us $600 which was worth much less to us than 4 days off work (driving to Qld & back), 4 days accommodation, 4 days of fuel, meals etc.

All the best tho - our kids loved our van!!
