HI guys,
Am in the process of reviewing/buying some digital maps, but am unsure on what the rest of you guys use for everyday touring. I do have a copy of hema 2010 and my rooftop maps for detail areas. The hema gives me all the main highways but not the regional towns and thats what i am after.
So should i buy a copy of memory map ( Aus or local dvd's) or UBD regional maps to tour around this land

The Memory Map DVD has the Australia 250 k series, some Desert maps and the UBD maps. I can't remember if it has the regional UBD maps as I am typing this on my iPad so my computer isn't on. Therefore the only real difference between what you have and Memory Map is the UBD maps and you can by them separately. A cheap Tom Tom or similar would be ok for street mapping and about the same price. We are spoilt for choice really. Mike

Whatever you do, look at the capabilities of the mapping software first before you buy the maps. Memory Map has it's own proprietary mapping format. It will then commit you to buying all the maps to suit. Oziexplorer isn't like that and if you have other maps, they can usually be converted. Oziexplorer is also an Australian product with heaps of copies of maps around that are convertible or are easily accessible.

I still have unused licences for Memory Map - light weight, low capability may be what you want of course.

JoJo if you are looking for towns then maybe you need a tomtom/navman/garmin type of device that works with the other things you have. Something that autoroutes I mean, so you can whack in an address and Bobs your Uncle.

Thats the setup I use, and I find it wirks a treat
