I've got a lifted and front and rear locked TD6 Patrol wagon, but I can see my self in one of these eventually, only 255,000k done so far so at least a hundred to go, then maybe time to refine my self, price will be the key, if it's cheaper than a Toyota, they'll do well in the market place I reckon

Not a bad advert - but didn't the wowser nanny state brigade get up Nissan for running through a quarry and then poor old Holden for doing circle work in a ute and Toyota for the Corolla power slides.............they'll go ballistic about this one pulling out trees and sliding around the place. But - not a bad advert and hopefully it puts enough competition up the current crop of dual cabs that they actually start building something decent. rgds
Slow down and relax......

I must admit I have my doubts about a 2L with 2 turbos huffing and puffing away

hi gt
did you know that
vw supplied amaroks to the officials of dakar rally last year and again this year as well
they have performed well while vw have been testing various arrangement for the final model to be sold to the public this year
they just fit them with oversize tyres to give more ground clearance
and the officials have literally flogged them on a dailly basis last year and right now while the race is in progress
so dont under estimate the bi-turbo 2ltr motors capabilities
cheers

I know what you're saying but it will be interesting to compare this against the new Ranger with 3.2L 5 Cyl.

Love to do them side by side with a load and towing something.

What worries me about the VW is that it might end up a "peaky" thing that you row along with the gearstick once you're loaded up.

hi
as an owner of a 1.9ltr turbo golf diesel i have no doubt in my mine that it will have enough power with 2ltr/ bi -turbo

the thing i picked up on in that tree pulling stunt
was that the idiots put the tow chain around the towball
a well known no-no in 4wd circles
cheers

Its a Volkswagon.....

What more needs to be said.

My VW T3 van, still going strong.
My mates bay window, still drops his boat in at the boat ramp every weekend. (rear engined petrol sitting in the drink)

my FIL's golf, (4motion 4 Door), great little super hatchback.

not to mention,
Skoda Octavia, is VW running gear.
Audi, VW running gear.
Porsche,........ VW (well sort of)

I could like the VW Amarok, keen for a look.

Hopefully the price is right.
