Hi All
Just had a phone call from some one saying they were from Windows and that they had received messages fro my computer of a threat,
She wanted me to open my computer so she could fix the problem.
Sounded suspicious as she asked for a Mrs which non of my computers are in my wife's name.
I asked her to send me an email with her contact details on it, no email has come.
I put a scan on the computer and it came up with 15 threats one serious.
These were removed and surprisingly the computer speeded up.
May have been genuine but I have my suspicions.
Just a warning
Regards
Ted

Hi Ted,
very definitely a SCAM, no-one contacts you via phone for computer issues. If you had said yes your bank accounts would probably be empty by now and someone else would have a foreign passport in your name.

It's a scam alright. My parents don't even own a computer & they got the same call. My Dad said that it took a while to convince the caller that no-one in his house owned a computer!

They block dial like all call centres

Just get given a set of numbers like 3408000 to 3410999 and ring them all.
