Hi,
First off, thanks for all the help given so far!
I think I am on top of most of my issues, but have one further question:
Do I need to wire in some sort of inline fuse to connect an AGM 28AH battery straight to a 12v outlet?
probably a dopey question but I wasn't sure.
cheers for any assistance
Trevor

Trevor,
There's a lot of energy stored in a battery and if there is a short and that energy comes out quickly the high current can cause fire. It is good practice to ALWAYS provide a fuse close to a battery.

Yes. you will need to have a fuse in line. As close to the battery as feasible. Make sure the fuse is rated at less than the cable you use. Otherwise the cable will burn out before the fuse.
