Hi all,

Just letting you know that the Barrier Hwy between Cobar and Broken Hill has been cut on the Broken Hill side of Wilcannia. It is expected to be closed for at least a week.

Cobar to Wilcannia is closed to heavy vehicles (light vehicles only allowed).

If you are coming from Nyngan there is little to no warning until you get to Cobar where you need to take a detour thru Hay.

Hi John,

I'll try my hardest ; ) but the Darling is going to be running hard for weeks and months to come.

One positive out of all the rain/flooding is that the river red's in the overflow country get a drink.

I guess you take the good with the bad

Cheers Wilko

It has ever been so.
If you read the plaque at Coach and Horses camp, it will tell you that the paddle steamers used to negotiate a small creek at the camping area and travel out on the flood plain for several kilometers to the stations to load wool.
Hard to believe in the drought.
