The mother inlaw is pretty active, lives on a few hilly acres. She is looking at buying a 89 Pajero firsted purchased in 1990 one owner 96,000km on the clock for $9,900. The is a private sale for a elderly gentleman.
It's a manual 3.0 L white in colour A1 condition.

89 NF Pajeros saw the last upgrade of the box shape body. The 3l V6 model has upgraded rear suspension (3 link with coils, previous was leaf springs). Early model Pajeros suffer mainly from gearbox problems, however I believe these where largely rectified by the time the V6 model arrived. Beware of LPG kitted vehicles, the V6 engine was not designed to run on gas (exhaust valves and seats will not tolerate lpg). Underneath check for worn idler arm bushes and sway bar bushes, loose lower control arm bolts, loose trailing arm bolts and worn bushes.

Pajeros have always been known for their good on road manners combined with reasonable ability off road. The V6 engine is in general very reliable, however servicing can be a little expensive as things like filters etc arn't cheap. Power output of the v6 is 109kw, kerb weight 2600 for the lwb while shorties come in at 2350kg

The prices for those range from $5000 up to $11000 ,so if it is immaculate condition inside and out then the price is not unreasonable. At 96k the engine is only a 1/3 of the way thruogh its life if driven and serviced correctly. In that type and class they are one of the better 4x4.

Only 96,000 . . . . geez, snap it up.

I've got a 90 Pajero V6 with 250,000 on it.

Some relatively minor issues with it, but if this one has been serviced properly, well worth the investment. They are a good honest performer offroad, and pretty good onroad manors.

Seen them on lots for about $10000 with far more K's on it. Probably top end of market price, but with those K's probably worth the extra dollars.
