G'day
We are off to the Kimberley in winter in a 4WD camper and would appreciate opinions on the best map(s) covering the area from Derby along the Gibb River Road (including the Mitchell Plateau) to Wyndham and back along the Gt Northern Highway to Broome (including the National Parks like Tunnel Creek and Geike Gorge).
Thanks for the help. Peter

Hema map: The Kimberley.
You should also invest in Viv and Ron Moon's Adeventurers Guide to the Kimberley.
Available from the Derby and Kununurra Info Centres and updated at the start of each tourist season is a cheap booklet outlining camping places, where fuel, gas and stores available, current camping prices etc. it is a great resource. We ordered ours over the phone and it was sent about May.

Hi Peter, i purchased my maps and books here on EO; Ron & Viv Moon's book (good, although out of date) and Hema Map The Kimberley featuring the Gibb River Road. I also have Hema The Kimberley Atlas and Guide which includes the same map through its pages of information, but i can't be sure now if i purchased it here or i was given it. Not that you can get lost if you follow the droves of tourists!

Hi Peter

I have just been going through my 2008 trip blogs (as on my blog here), and the Kimberley tour has to rank as our best ever trip.
