It's unroadworthy if they don't self cancel.

Thanx, unroadworthy, amazing, of course back in my day,I had one of those metal arms to say I'm stopping or making a right-turn, damn it was hard to say your turning left, lol lol

Left turn was indicated with a stop signal back then.

Unroadworthy if they don't self cancel..?????
Hmmm.....that means many Mack trucks on our roads are illegal.
The Metroliners commonly used as Agitators dont self cancel.

A problem usually caused by someone holding the indicator in the turn position
and when the wheel spins back it can break off the little plastic (or nylon) pin
that restores it to centre
Have replaced them in older cars but dont know about Patrols presumably with an airbag in the centre of the steering wheel.
Try the Patrol

Is usually a worn part, not broken. Don't think it available as a spare part from memory.
And definitely in victoria indicators must cancel on any LV fom 1st july 1988.
Mack trucks are not covered in LV regs so i'll refrain from making un informed comments.
