G`day all,
Can someone please tell me what type of road the Kennedy Dev. Road is from
Hughenden to The Lynd
Junction ?. By "type" I mean , Good Gravel 80k/h, Slow Gravel , Doable with C/van, 4wd only, corrugated ? ? ? etc.
I can`t find any info here however I found a couple of photos on Google Earth that show it`s probably graded gravel .
I mean Dry Season conditions.
Thanks,
Scrubby.

Hi Scrubby
It is normally a pretty rough gravel road, not really suitable for caravans, however there are roadworks along sections of it at the moment, so should be on the improve soon.
Phone
The Oasis Roadhouse (07 40625291) as the road workers are
camping there at the moment.
Cheers Ray

Scrubby,
It varies. We went to-and-back twice last year.
When dry, and after greders, good 80-100km/hr
When wet, then a slow 30km/hr as the mud there is very 'snotty' (sorry Mod Squad but this is a true description) and the type that packs onto the tire as
well.
Do not know the current conditions, above was in April and July 2010

we went through there last year towing a 23 foot Coromal Princeton road van. We did not notice any unsealed except for 1 km or so here and there. It was also raining and when we had to put 2
wheels of the single strip bitumen passing trucks we did get a lot of mud on the van. There are call points so you generally know when a truck is coming and they know you are when you call at a call point.
Overall no probs. Just drive to the conditions.
