G'day all.
We are having the above unit, together with rear camera for vehicle and c'van, fitted when we take delivery of c'van in March.
Has anyone had any experience with this unit ?
Probably should have asked before placing the order!!

I have one in my 200. Also have a rear camera for the cruiser and have just bought a new van with rear camera, but yet to hook up the 2nd camera. I also run Oziexplorer on the Polaris when bush and use the standard Sygic (very similair to TomTom) nav program. I looked at others like VMS but found the Polaris was the best value for money.
Cheers

Ex neighbor has one and he is happy with it but due to the heater crapping itself and leaking onto the unit it has died twice.
As long as its kept dry should be OK.
Seemed to do what he wanted but at a fairly high cost compared to a Tom Tom and a cheap reversing camera setup.

I have the 7" screen model with single COM port for camera, about 3 mths old.
The previous model i initially purchased and swapped (thank you polaris) didn't have any battery backup and every time I started the truck the voltage dropped and the unit resetted, and thanks to Windows took 30sec to get back to where I was. Obviously very annoying offroad.
The new unit works
well however i haven't used the reversing camera as much as I wanted. Two reasons. There isn't any button to switch between Nav and Camera, you simply plug/unplug the cable in the COM port. Not ideal. 2nd. The camera is always dirty on the back of the truck.

Hi Alex,
Hmm.... my Polaris has a switch on the menu page where you can turn the camera off/on, plus its set up to come on autommatically in reverse, no input needed at all for that.
Additionally, I have wired up a 3 way overide switch so I can turn the camera on when not in reverse (quicker than going thru the menu screen), leave the camera off (handy when rocking in a bog form 1st/rev) and just so it comes on in reverse (normal postion).
Not sure how you plug it into the com port, my input is on a seperate plug on the back of the unit.
Cheers
Captain

Mine is an enternal unit not in dash. This is most likely the casuse of the differences. If not would be interested hearing how you did this with an external unit.

Whats the model number and we may be able to help.
Cameras usually connect to a SVHS connector on Polaris
Mine is an separate screen and it has two camera inputs
