I am a kiwi planning a two month (July August) once in a lifetime trip clockwise from
Perth to
Brisbane along the Savannah Highway. I dont propose to do much real off road stuff so I am wondering if I can get away with a normal 2WD vehicle, a high clearance vehicle or do I need 4WD. Also when I get to
Brisbane I will have a flight booked to come
home and I wonder if anyone can direct me to a company who will either buy my vehicle or sell on behalf in my absence.
Thanks for any advice
Richard

Hi Richard
The
Savannah Way (depending on what the season is like) would be one where high clearance 4wd would be advisable.

There is an outfit in
Brisbane that buys cars wholesale.
As an indication they offered me $4500 for a 2001 VXII Berlina.
Only had 97,000k on it and was immaculate.
I sold it privately for $7500 and that was cheap. Similar in car yards were up to $9000.
Dont know of any that that sell on behalf as they have to sell with a warranty of some sort and arent interested in on behalf's.

Yes some companies do take vehicles on consignment. But that means you do not get paid till they sell it, or you can sell it wholesale as Grapham said.

What about vehicle Auctions? My son and d.i.l sold their Hilux some years ago at an Auction (Pickles or similar) as trying to sell it from a rural location proved difficult.
