Hi Everyone,

I have a short 15 second video file that I wish to email.

Because it was taken in high definition it is still 15 meg after zipping, which obviously is still too large to email.

Can someone please advise a novice almost illiterate computer person such as myself an easy way to compress the file so it can be emailed.

Many thanks

Craig

Thanks,
But as mentioned I'm somewhat computer illiterate. I have no idea on how to post on YouTube.

CraigB

go to the you tube site and create an account( the steps are easy to do) and when you are done hit the upload button on the top of your screen and upload your video from your files.

cheers

Open it with Windows Movie Maker then save it and dictate how large you want the file eg 4mg.

Hi Craig

Firstly open the video in the software that came with your camera. Go up the top to the file or edit tab and search for a command such as "convert to" or "modify"or "export" etc. Select one of these and it should give you the option to save the video in different file formats. Make sure you have the original file saved elsewhere as it will modify the file.

You may also just be able to go to file/save as, and choose a different file type.

What you want to do is save the file as a WMV for email, this is one of the smallest file sizes and the quality does suffer a bit Alternatively save it as an MPEG 2 file it will be bigger than a WMV and the quality will be better.

Hope this helps.

not meaning to hijack the thread............but similar problem.......

my video saves as a .mov file......the software does not have the file/save as option..so how do you convert to the preferred .wmv format?

thanks
