This time last year, I was in
Lockhart, the beautiful little southern Riverina town known as the "Town of Verandahs"
All who have passed this way in recent years, will know what I mean, when I say it seemed like the driest place on earth !!!!!!
I just cannot imagine this happening down there.....but then, perhaps, neither did this poor bloke ????????
:-( :-(

It looks like there is more on the way Fred.
It all starts in the tropics.
WEATHER watchers were keeping an eye on an ominous-looking swirling mass of cloud in the South Pacific last night.

Jon, I noticed that disturbing bit of weather on the satelite images this morning, and just hoped with all my heart, it was something I was imagining.
Lets hope Yasi dissipates completely before it reaches the west coast also.
We are all, also praying, for our fellow Aussies now in peril with the
Perth fires as
well.
It seems authorities believe they were deliberately lit. What are people breeding ???????

Fred,
When Bob Carr was premier he stated his government would come down hard on those that deliberately started fires.
Not that I believed anything would change, but I hope it would.
Yes our thoughts are with all Aussies that find themselves at Natures peril.
The forecast is a bit of a worry tho.

yes i tend to agree with it ....... did they HAVE TO actually mention "Doomadgee" in it ???
We are all of the opinion here that the "wet season" rains have not happened yet, it still seems to be coming, i think we have yet to get the "monsoon" ... and that is REAL rain but at least not wind .....
