Hi Tourboy.
Litchfield is lovely.
We rang the
Ranger for the conditions of the
Reynolds River every third day until we got there. This was late Aug about 2003. They'd had rain. We were warned that there were crocks in it so we didn't want to walk it first.
We were concerned about it as we didn't have a
snorkel at that time. It is in a long way so you really don't want to go in that far & have to turn back.
The
Ranger had told us the water level on that day & it was O.k...Just.
We entered from the South side & all was
well until just before 1/2 way accross and the back drivers side wheel found a very deep hole. We were very lucky to get out as the water got up to the exhaust pipe.
I don't know the condition now. However,I think that The Reynolds in May might be asking a bit too much. It's a very pretty drive though. As for camping spots in the Park, I wouldn't stay in the Park either we stayed just outside & went in for the day trip. The road to
twin falls was closed .Take care, safe travels Ma.
