Hi all,
Just a brief update on the aftermath of the flood through Mt Dare Hotel.
The pub is drying out nicely, Dave & Karen put in a huge effort to clear all the silt & muck out, as
well as cleaning everything that was water affected.
I'm still drying out wet equipment in the workshop & pumping out the water left behind in the grounds, we've managed to save the bulk of the water damaged gear but we still had considerable losses to stock, souvenirs & personal items.
Melissa & the kids flew back from Oodna' on Saturday & are glad to be
home.
We had our first visitors yesterday, Mary & Victor from New Crown Station rode their bikes down to
check out the roads but had to walk in the last km or so. Dave will attempt to drive up to New Crown on Thursday.
So we should be up & running when the roads re-open.

Hi Jeff
Thanks for the update, greatly appreciated. I know Dave will not through any of the damaged stock away, but what a classic
sign it will make with the gear to sell
"Flood Damaged Stock Must be Sold".
Can you see the look on peoples face with them thinking, what floods? I hope that there will be pictures blown up and put on display for them all to see.
All the very best with the clean up.
Cheers
Stephen

Hi Stephen,
True to form, I've managed to bog the Patrol ute with 315/75/16s on the way up to & back from the dump!
Totally sick of mud!!!

Hi All,
Dave just got back last night from a trip up to New Crown & Finke, the road from here to New Crown is pretty chopped up & wet in
places as you would expect but passable.
Between New Crown & Finke the main trouble spot is the Goyder
Creek crossing which is built up with silt.
We still have quite a bit of water on the road outside the hotel, but the bypass track is just passable.
Don't know what the roads south are like, but from reports from
Hamilton Station it will be at least another week before they open.
