Hi Grant

No replies? Check out Caravaners Forum and do a search. You will find heaps on the options and all about water and power usage for the different types.

Who's caravan washing machine is two buckets with lids, and a plumbers plunger to use when not moving, with water for laundry being drawn from outside sources to retain good water in the tanks for drinking and general use

The environmentally friendly stuff doesn't seem to froth much, or use nappy soaker power (coles or woolworths brands).

We have a Lemair and it has been Ok but is a bit rough on the clothes.

Seems the necks on T shirts wear out quicker when being washed in it than at home. Even if we put them in washing bags.

Only cold wash and takes a while to do.

Better than nothing and at 17kg and about $400 is a lot lighter and cheaper than a front loader

Dometic is 51 kg and about $1300.

Cheers

We also have a Lemair and so long as you dont just put it on wash and walk away, you can do a small wash with about 40litres of water.
We freecamp a lot so finding washing water is always a problem.
The wife usually washes all clothes then empties out the dirty water , rinses using fresh water then spins everything out.
We also use one of those bucket washers which wash the clothes as you drive, she keeps it in the shower, then spins it out when we camp.
Been using it for 3 years now and are happy with it.

Jeff.

Hi,
Not sure if you want a fitted washing machine for your presumed caravan/mobile home etc.
My folks have a real neat twin tub washer.
Small, portable and lightweight its also of good quality also. Dont have the brand name to hand now, but will ask them and let you know.
Camec have a twin tub washer, but the one my folks have is much, much better quality than that one they have. I do know as well is was remarkably cheaper than the Camec one also.
They were going to buy the camec till they stumbled upon this one.
Might not be what you were after, but the price and convenience (and water consumption) is ideal.
They can wash every few days the clothes they have and can always wait till they are in caravan parks for the big bed linen wash, but for everyday items this one is ideal.
Suits my folks as gives mum a chore to do while dads sinking a beer after the drive !! and in the long run will be cheaper than using laundromat facilities. (power and water paid for in caravan site)
Alot easier than using the bucket and lid variety we use to wash our smalls every few days.
