That is good news, Doug. The best part is that it should drive 4WD-hating Harold Scruby nuts. Gotta love that!!

Doug,
Judging by what I see on the road the majority of the SUVs are not what we would call real 4wds. Most are softroaders I think and a few are 2wds like the Ford Territory RWD.
Hopefully most are not real 4wds so we don't get even more clogging up the supposed out of the way
places.
cheers

Michael
I don't mind the Yankee Jargon as you call it, but I still call a ute a ute , but when it comes to the bigger stuff like F25O's and Rams ..yes they are Pickup's , then take the Daihatsu Rocky Sports Utility Vehicle it was , those 2.8 Turbo Diesels will blow a 4.2 75 series away but a very capable 4x4 that would do more than most owners would ever ask of them.
And if it were not for the Yanks many years ago we would all be drinking Saki instead of Fosters....TIC.

Hi Michael,
I'm with you on that.
When ever I hear the word SUV, it reminds me of the Russian Submarine officer in Hunt For Red October.
When he was explaining what he wanted to do when he got to America, " I Want an SUVEE"
;)

But an interesting trend is happening. All those 4wd SUVs are now becoming 2wd to improve their fuel consumption and make them cheaper.
So now you can buy 2wd Xtrails, Outlanders, RAV4, Vitara and a bunch of Korean vehicles that were previously 4wd.
The manufacturers have finally woken up that many buyers don't want a 4wd, they just want a taller vehicle.

Phil, funny you should mention that, i have been thinking for a while about the big 4x4s, 2 wd Patrol or Blandcruiser.... Great for towing and less weight in a 2wd vehicle,,, save 5 grand and better fuel figures!! Michael..

Hey Doug,
are you getting wet up there? The tail of the cyclone seems to be reaching
Adelaide River according to the BoM.
Possibly see you at Mt Bundy around May sometime, not timetable for this trip, we will just wander at will.
Cheers Colin.
