Hi all,
I have a '07 VDJ79 v8 diesel 'cruiser. One of my injector leads was disconnected causing the engine warning light to come on. All's fixed now and working normally, but the light remains on.

Can someone please advise how I can reset the light?

Thanks in eager anticipation...

Gerry

Some say disconnect the battery & depress the horn button for a period to make sure that all capacitors are drained & then reconnect the battery.

Hi Gerry

I had a similar problem last year with the fuel filter light on my 79 V8. After replacing the fuel filter, the light would not go off.
I rang a Toyota Dealer who told me how to fix the problem over the phone.
It was a matter of disconnecting and reconnecting the wire from the fuel sender unit.
But check with a Toyota dealer first.

That's only for resetting the fuel warming light as it's a soft fault, hard faults like the injector lead off need resetting with a scantool.

Thanks all, everything is good and the light is out!

Apparently it stays on for something like 3 starts and as long as you drive over a certain speed without a re-occurrence, then the light resets by itself. However, the code is logged in the ECU until cleared. Don't know the full details, but drove to work and back today with the light still on, then started it again after being parked for 10 minutes and the light had reset.

Cheers

I agree, but probably not for free. Anyway, all's good now as per my reply above. All I needed was a bit of patience and it fixed itself (for free) :)

Oh... forgot to mention that the above info came from the LCOOL site as someone here suggested earlier - thanks.

A lot people on LCOOL have one of these which can read as well as reset error codes. They can also read all sorts of parameters like temps, fuel use etc etc.

Hi Boobook,
Yes, I've been checking them out and it appears my vehicle is totally compatible. It's definitely on the wish list... pretty close to the top as well.
Cheers
