If Pocket Saddle road is the road that runs along the ridge on the southern side of currango then it is locked by national parks. I find on the net recently a blog from some mountain bikerss who rode from
Canberra to 3 mile using some of the above route. Very interesting.
Cheers Pete

Can't help specifically Eric but I googled Kosiosko and was amazed (not my first choice of words) at the number of hits returned. Strzelecki and his hero must be rolling in their
graves.

I doubt very much if all of it is open, but I cant help with the specifics. When the park was declared a wilderness area about 5 years ago signs a lock gates went up on almost every trail that we used to frequent. Only about 3 or 4 roads remained open and they are mostly 2WD graded. If you are on a horse or pushbike you can go almost anywhere but not in a 4WD. The maps available on
this page mark the roads you are allowed to use. Basically the highways.

I don't believe there is any access east of tantangra Rd and very limited to the west, have looked at the
Snowy Mountains map by Lands Dept? Legend has it the roads were chopped up by a unknown group of hilux drivers and are unlikely ever to be unlocked.
