Hi every one ,
well we are two days into our trip, towing an off road van 2.3t when we hit a big problem.
0n departing
Terramungamine reserve this morning (good
free camp) we hit a small rut in the road we were only moving very slowly on a tight right bend as soon as we went down into the rut and back out again the steering felt all wrong, the steering wheel went out of centre position,we knew something wasn't right so limped into Dubbo.
Called RACQ there prognosis is the steering rack appears to have separated from the rubber mounts on the right hand side.
Has anyone out there had a similar problem ? and should we be taking it to a Toyota Dealer or a
Suspension Dealer?

Seems extremely strange for a LITTLE bump to do that. Most 100 have been belted over all sorts of rough terrain without mishap.
Perhaps something was loose.
Did u
check it over before you left.
Either place would be good but Toyota would be dearest I bet.
If its just mounts a new one and tightening up may fix it as it takes a lot to put a wheel out of alignment.
Had a Toyota car that the mounts loosened New ones fixed it.
