Save the PDF file to your desktop or whatever, then go to a website like http://www.mediafire.com/ and upload the PDF. Copy the link you are given from that site and paste it here.

VW say it is going up against the Hilux, so I did a bit of resource and found a couple of things different from the Hilux...
It is 109mm wider than the Lux, has 249mm ground clearance, Toyota says the Hilux is only 210mm does not seem right.
Also of interest it is coming out with two different rear suspensions, also a rear diff lock and of course full time 4WD.

They are being released on the 12th March and that is when we will find out how much they cost, probably a lot more than I can afford hahaha

Wonder what the target market is, if it's trades then fine, but if more for personal use (which is where VW seems to fit to me) coils and rear disc would be preferred. I'll never ever buy a leaf/drum brand new vehicle again. (had current model dual cab)

Maybe not, but it is probably braking more than an individual axle on the tow vehicle.

People buy VW's because of the quality and engineering. So it may attract different buyers than the Hilux market. I'm expecting tradies and families will go for it, miners won't.

I've owned lots of Jap 4wds but last week bought a VW Tiguan (small 4wd) to replace an Xtrail. It feels like quality and drives so well. I expect the Amarok will be well above the Hilux in this respect.

Downsides at this stage is they are only available in manual.
The Amarok also has a diesel particulate filter (you need VW507.00 spec synthetic oil which cost me $123 for 5 litres, and the DPF can block up and costs $5000 to replace).

One of my first questions when I go to look at them will be, how much for the servicing? Will probably be in the BMW class which will put a lot of people off I would think.
Some thing that will hurt for me, paying some one else to do the servicing. Was probably in the 70's I owned a new car, so not looking forward having to go back to the dealer for it.

Bruce,
Servicing costs are very consistent across VW models - typically only done yearly or 15,000k. The oil is synthetic and expensive, but the cartridge oil filters are $20 each, and fuel filters $66 every 60k. I doubt they will have a timing belt as VW are using Timing Chains more often now.

Most models are about $300 each service until 60k.

Ben,
The biggie for our Tiguan is the 105,000k service which includes timing belt and tensioner - service is about $1500. And I think there's the odd service that is $600 because it includes brake fluid changes and haldex fluid changes. But the Haldex fluid change intervals are being reduced with the newer units.

I saw a pair of them up close today at some proving grounds. I think it was set up for a demo to dealers. Not a bad looking rig.
