Hi Matt
Your thread opened quicker for me than anything here has for a couple of years. Using the site has become so slow, and things jump around so the wrong thread opens half the time. Maybe they have fixed something today?

Hi Matt,
I think David did a lot of work on it yesterday and for me its running a lot faster today. But there are still a few issues. For the first time ever I went to alert moderators of some way off-topic threads that have just come up - and the "alert Moderator" button is not working.
Cheers,
Val

Working better for me than it has done for years.
Well done David. Following trying alert moderator button, message appeared to go, but i did get a bounced email with "mail box too full" from a non EO address - perhaps just one of the volunteer mods is not at
home.

Hi Matt, Motherhen, et al,
The site is having a major update (new server) according to David. I could not go back and search for the thread that explained some of the problems. It was in response to Stephen L's query on Sunday or yesterday.
I had big problems uploading my
Wildflowers thread on Saturday.
I couldn't get into Road Conditiions last night.
All will be fixed before long and the site will be faster...I hope!

Should be fine today - I solved most of the problems last night and our testing has been all good today. Please let me know if it is not right for you still.
We have been copying all the data off this server to our new box and this did have an impact however this task is now complete, so have a go and see.
Working instant for me at the moment but was pausing a little during the last few hours as I was updating minor code in the background. I am not doing this any more today so see what happens.

David,
It took 3 goes to open up this thread. It opened and reverted back to the
forum within 2 secs like it does on occasion.

I suspect this is a faulty ad or something that is causing this as the revert problem you have reported has nothing to do with the system - there is something triggering javascript on your machine to do a back function - now this is most likely an ad - if you are around I can disable the ads in the view page and see when the problem goes away. Drop me a PM if you are able to help with this for about 10 mins? (david@itbeyond.com.au)

Hi David
Still a little slow this end and took some time to send a MM, which usually go straight through. I had to hit the send button 4 times, so I hope the person receive the MM does not get multiple messages.
Thanks for you great work.

Stephen - dependant on your browser they may get 4 if IE but should only get one if anything else. IE - really is a poor browser product these days.

Great thanks for the info. It is a real struggle at the moment and what little hair I have is almost gone. I have not touched the code much today but there have been a number of little issues that could have been the cause of our problems.
I have one update for later tonight to correct an issue with threads that have moderated items are stopping the output display at the moderated item. This will be resolved tonight and then just maybe I can get back to the job of installing the new servers (which should be running in
alpha mode tomorrow), releasing a new site and finishing the user login and management systems in EO. Ah the joy.
Again thanks for the advice I do monitor the system all the time so generally have a good idea but sometimes it works for me and not others and this could be due to access levels or something so please do keep telling us.
Preferred method as always is
feedback.
David
