Can anyone help with information as to road conditions on this road. Will be towing a large off road van.
Also from Crookwell to Tuena.
Friends are looking at going that way with their van and would appreciate any info available.
Many thanks
Julie

Julie,
road from Taralga to Black Springs has been tarred for a few years now.
Caravans are not recommended due to steep drop and rise in and out of Abercrombie( alll up about 6 km)
going north the pull up from river is very steep with a couple of switchbacks.
you need a powerful tug to get up the hill but is doable.
in saying the above I know of livestock carriers who drive semis thru that way.
Crookwell to Tuena-has been a while since I've been that way (10 years plus) there was some dirt and a bit twisty but again semis can drive the road so no reason for a van not to.
cheers

Howard, now that you have a more powerful 4wd, I think you will find the big hills are not all that bad....as with any major hill, pick your gear and take your time if you have to....cheers Greig...lol

Road from Crookwell to Tuena is good, some dirt and some roadworks in the area as of 2 weeks ago. Pass through Tuena 7 more Kiiometers and camp on Abercrombie river, very quiet and peaceful.

The Tuena road is more hilly, but no monsters like the one up out of the Abercrombie on the Taralga rd. If you have a 200 series then no problems either way.
