GDay,
All been lurking for a long time on the side but now need some help form all of the Jayco Camper trailer owners out there. This affliction affects the smooth side campers, my problem is that the vent in the door leaks because of the way it is designed. Because the vent is made in two halves that snap together there is a section in the middle that does let water into the door and then into the van or just soaked up by the lining of the door which is now rotting and starting to show significant signs of water damage under and to the side of the vent. Luckily mine is covered by warranty at this stage. What I have found whilst talking to dealer whom has been in touch with the R&D guys is that they don't seem to think that this is a big problem and that they haven't realy heard of it being a problem even though I showed the dealer examples of the damage in his own pre loved yard.
Am I alone or has no one else noticed I would love to hear from any one with the same issue
Yes I know its a Jayco and you get what you pay for.

Cheers and thanks

Hi Pmack, Mark from Ballina, got 2005 Jayco Dove Outback, aluminium sided, they got pressed alum door panels with vents with insect mesh on inside, some red dust gets in, if I was doing out back I would block these... illegal coz they are for leaking gas. I also covered the fridge vents with mesh, helped heaps coz they are at back corner. I found that Jayco apprentices do not know how to use use a silicone gun, Ive progressively gone over joints etc & resealed properly with urethane & finished it neatly. Like they say.... built down to a price not up to standard......but love ours, travelled heaps.
