Does anyone have suggestions how to keep the bed dust free and dry so can leave bed made up while travelling in tent trailer. I have seen where some people put a tarp over the mattress but was wandering if the bed would sweat, and if so is there anything that would stop this.

Gday Peaches
We have a tent trailer and we don't get dust on the bed after a days drive. If you have dust on the bed, why not put a linen sheet over the bed so it can breath.

Thank you for replying. no it was more that I have been told that the bed could get wet if it has been raining and the floor of the annex when folded back might put dust and dirt on the bed. I was trying to find out if anyone had used a tarp or anything else to stop this

We used to use an oversize "picnic rug" upside down, worked perfectly for many years.

Yes, just put the blanket "shiny side" up.

G/day Peaches. we use a painters sheet that you can pick up pretty cheap , nice light and water proof, stops bedding getting wet when folding wet tent. regards Macca

If you don't mind spending a bit of money the best method I have used is a canvas swag like cover.

You would need to get one made at the motor trimmers to suit your mattress. But the idea is that you put your mattress in it make up your bed with pillows etc and zip it up before packing up your trailer. Then you just need to un-zip it and fold the canvas over to jump into bed.

This is the only method I have seen that works 100%. It wont sweat as the cover is canvas and as such is water and dust proof.
