How long were you wanting to hire for? If a month or more then maybe buying/selling would be a better option? Particularly if you just want it for emergencies, and have a Telstra post-paid SIM already.

We priced phone hire from Johnny Appleseed at Salisbury a couple of years ago - I'd guess they still do it?
