Hi Guys,

has anyone seen an aftermarket rear side window for a 75 series troopie that lifts up instead of slides??

Same idea to what they put in some of the ute canopies

Try RV and caravan suppliers as they use similar windows. It may be as simple as shortening the frame of one of theirs and fitting a piece of glass to suit. Or you could just use the acrylic window that comes with it. I assume you want to sleep in the vehicle.

Had a mate who did this himself to a 73series with the FRP roof. Remove dthe original windows and lined the hole with that pinchweld that has a rubber seal. Replaced the glass with perspex cut to size and shape, and obtained hinges, struts and latches from UES Int. It was a nice job.

Gidday Dave, I have done what you are asking about 3 years ago on my troopy. The work was done by a marine window maker and although a great job was done the rear pair cost me $1500.00. Safety glass was used with lockable handles that folded flat so as not to caught on scrub and trees.
A few things I would like to point out from my experiences with these windows, they are brilliant!!. I would reconsider using glass and just use sheet metal which would cut the cost considerably and next time I would do all 4 windows if I have no rear passengers. On one side I have built a box that is now my kitchen so that for quick stops etc. I only have to open the side window.
I can arrange for a photo to be sent to you if you require one.
