So whats that 40km to the track, have they fixed the punt ?
Story goes that it's only a channel flood and might not do much but it's a wait and see. Big rain up north this weekend, hopefully. Come on Steve what news have you ?

Hi Tess
I was speaking with Transport SA yesterday. All the work has been completed in
Adelaide and the boys are up working on the ferry right now. As you know it is a big call but they claim that the ferry will be ready for operation when the body of water hits the
Birdsville Track again. Unlike last year, all those big waterholes are still full of water, so that will make the flow quicker to penetrate south.
When I was speaking with Patsy the other day, she said it was still up in the air as to weather it will flood again, but like they say, there is still a lot of water to come down.
When I get pictures and more up to date information from Transport SA, I will post it immediately on the
forum.
Take care Tess
Cheers
Stephen

Cool, it was mad watching people being turned around last year. Should help with the flow of traffic as
well. I only have recent Lake Eyre photos, If I get any Cooper ones I'll send them to you. The
Warburton is now just ponded no action there. I find that the Neales and Muccumba flows are real flash in the pans I reckon to keep up that coverage on Lake Eyre we will need some more water. But the Lake is stiill looking mighty pretty and the district is just so lush.
For those contemplating sleeping on ground in the Tirari beaware that you might get your eared chewed by the native rat it'll give you the willies. But there cute for a rat cause there our rat. It's a pity so many are getting run over.

Hi Tess
Jason was telling me about the native rats quite some time back. The only problems with the rats, is not them, but the snakes that feed on them. LOL.
Thanks for the offer of the photos.
Cheers

Stephen,
where I work at the bottom of the Selwyn range there is a rat plague, they are everywhere, The bottom of our hoisting shaft has hundreds of them in various stages of decomposition, a beautiful smell wafts through the
mine which we bottom dwellers love. Ha bloody Ha. I think the pied piper has been working over time.
Strange year it is, no flies at all, no green beetles and very few moths, have had heaps of Gidgee bugs though.
No flooding in the upper reaches of the Diamantina, Burke, Mort or
Hamilton Rivers although they are loaded ready to go.
Have a good one and thanks for all your info on SA conditions.
