Replacing Tyres on NM Pajero Exceed

I am looking at replacing the original tyres on my NM Pajero Exceed DID Auto and I am considering 285 75 R16 tyres to replace std 265 70 R16. This will give me an addition inch clearance in height and a bit more width. I have just replaced
the springs and shocks with new TJM springs and Bilstein shocks. and vehicle ride has and height has certainly improved on a recent trip towing my trackabout offroad camper. I know that my speedo will also need adjustment ??? Any comments would be appreciated.

I replaced the original Toyo tyres with BFG AT 265 75 R16 . It has JUST enough clearance with standard
suspension. They are fractionaly noiseier. The speedo now runs spot on. The solid spare wheel cover no longer fits.

I too replaced the original boots with Cooper ST (265/75/R16) before the
suspension Mods the boots rubbed on the inside of the wheel arch! (@ full lock)after I put taller HD Springs it wasn't a problem with 285's the only thing you may have to be carefull of is when your
suspension is fully compressed you may get wheel arch rub on the top, I think it will be a tight fit it all depends on how much lift you got from the
suspension Upgrade.

I replaced the standard Geolander H/T (not sure why they put an HT on a 4WD) with Bridgestone A/T's following previous experience on another vehicle which had limited 4WD work.
After 60K in the current vehicle I've had 4 punctures. Two with nail holes repairable with a plug. One nail through the sidewall which wasn't repairable. The other a sharp
rock through the steel belt in a washaway which also wasn't repairable. Three original tyres now need replacing and I'm doing some homework.
Looked at the comparo in a magazine and done some stats based on my usage. Already convinced myself I won't be buying the same brand again but the favorites are either expensive or had some bad publicity.
There is also the dilema on the best way to move across to a different brand/tyre all round.
