Would be interested to hear how you go. Will be traveling through that area in August with kite in hand as we are coming back from the Cape, where we will kite at Port Dougals as a minimum. I suspect though, there will be no wind in Aug

You currently cannot sail on lake eyre due to a native title dispute.

Hopefully a mutually agreeable arrangement can be found quickly.

Try just going for a permit for the national park and ask about doing some kite sailing see what they say. I don't believe the Traditional Owners have said 'No' they are I believe are being cultural minded on how the situation is to be handled. Apparently we allowed them a voice now we don't like what they say so there are some tanties being thrown. Throwing rocks at the National Parks as far I can see really never has worked for anyone. If you through accusations and got up me all over the media I'd probably get really slow at what I did too.
