Gday
Last weekend George M , Little Wes and I went up to Licola and beyond. We did the bottom of Macalister river track ,with 5 river crossings on Friday. We camped at crossing 5 for the night as the day was just about finished.
Saturday morn there was another 3 crossings and then we changed direction and headed for the Caledonia track . We stopped at about mid day .
Sunday morning we went up and I mean up the Dingo track and headed off home. All tracks were in pretty good condition, except for the river crossings, not deep but rough. The bottoms of the crossings were pretty rough and my vehicle was just that little bit low. All up I think we did 14 crossings . The weather was just great and not cold .

I must add that Friday's meal was spaghetti on toast and Julie's rum balls. Saturday night was soup with roast lamb and veg and Julie's rum balls .

Hi Muz

Whats a rum ball ? presume its a desert, we were stuck with lovely warm Xmas pudding and spray cream over this weekend , the kids got temporarily lost in the bush and we used this as an excuse to devour the rest - you guys look as contented as we were.

What a great country this is.

Gday
A rum ball is a chocolate and coconut ball with lashings of rum. To be taken at any time .

I used to hike in that area 50 odd years ago. And we didn't eat nearly as well as you did. Great to see a report from there.

Good evening Kevin
My doctor told me the same thing on my visit two weeks ago. A school hike for about 12 days from Mt Bulla to Licola .

Nothing quite that ambitious but we did make in to Lake Tali Karng a couple of times. I'm all nostalgic as I think about it.

Geez Muz: poor choice of photos.

I told Juilie how challenging some of the tracks were; now she thinks we just sat around drinking beer all day.

Now come on Julie, this is secret men's business . Axe throwing, fishing , cooking , eating , quiet time , cross word puzzles in the bush . What more can a man want?
