I know theres a few people here that have taken an interest in finding the Page Family Grave off the Bidsville track. There's a good article in the magazine section of todays Advertiser:

Its a pity the govt. don't want the site visited. i can't see why.

I travelled the Birdsville track for the first time in Dec 1978 in a Corolla - exactly 15 years after the Page family. Three of us looking for an adventure and travelling alone. Had a 27MHz CB for comms which would have been useless; had 50 litres of water. But for safety back then you contacted the police at both Birdville and Marree - maybe that recommendation came after the Page family tragedy.

Yeah for those who want the track file, its uploaded into the Member Fileswap GPS folder.

Sadly, we sold our Xtrail. Our son made us an offer that was good (Well it was for him :-)) Bought a VW Tiguan TDI for something a bit different. Great motor, good clearance but the approach angle will easily see the front end trashed and the storage space is way less than an Xtrail. Still tows 2 ton, but only 100kg ballweight. Spent the last month trying to work out all the gadgets! It would be nice to get it dirty, but my wife is a bit possessive of it!
