Can anyone tell me how I can find out which caravans have aluminium frames. I know that Jayco and Coromal have them, but I'm sure there must be other vans that have aluminium frames too. Can anyone help?

Thanks so much to all of you who replied.
We live on the Mid North Coast of NSW and are looking for a used van, but due to the limited stock in our area we are searching the internet for a suitable van and it will make it so much easier now knowing what to look at and what not to.
Thanks once again for the info - much appreciated.

Hi Cornhill,
Either material can produce a good frame, depending on the manufacturer. It is interesting to note
well known off road van manufacturers such as Bushtracker and Kedron use aluminium whereas trackmaster use meranti. I don't think anyone would argue about the quality of these vans. I have an Evernew, which is also uses meranti which is another good quality van. Budget vans using aluminium frames would be a worry for me. AS far as buying a used van (or new) a lot depends on your budget and the type of van you are looking for.
I hope you find what you are looking for.
Cheers

More interesting to ask perhaps what the actual construction is, perhaps the dimension of the aluminium, the thickness, welded or riveted.
