When you look at the brake magnet how do you tell if it is worn out or not?
Mine are standard magnets and have a centre section of metal and appear to surround that with white plastic, with one end showing a metal outer section.
What should I look for ?

Thanks in advance Bushy.

If there is uneven wear or the magnet seems thin then it is time to replace them.

See Here.

I hope the pic and note helps.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

Cheers Dodg.

They have depth wear indicators on their faces and when worn to these points it is time for new ones.

Yep re the wear indicators - plus they can fail circuit wise, while not worn out as such - they can be subject to a relentless flogging in the hubs. PS: Love the beautiful G shepherd - good mate to the cat it I'd guess - our late 'Piggy' was the same - brought a kitten home one day and told him not to bother the cat. Deal.
