I have a weather shield on the driver's window and am wanting to paint the top section of it to prevent/minimise the sun intrusion. I thought I would use a white paint, possibly an exterior one and prime the plastic with something like ESP.
Any comments from those experienced in painting plastic.

Hi,
What about speaking to a window tint installer a piece of tint large enough to cover the top of a weather shield (applied to the underside) only a little bit bigger than an 'offcut' surely wouldnt cost much & would look a lot better that paint

hi
instead of painting my weathershield i used some of that static clingon sunshield you can get from auto1. just cut a piece to fit on the inside of the shield. works great.

Isn't there some spray on tint that the ricers use on their tailiights?

Hi another option would be adheisive vinyl wrap.
As you can allways remove it.
Heres an ebay link to a place in the US, But a little more searching should be able to get somthing here may be clark rubber or the hardware have seen it in white for kitchen draws etc.

G'Day Wokhorse, Had the top of my weather shields painted black on the inside on 80 series cruiser. It failed a roadworthy due to "restricted vision". Though I'm 1.8m and sat high in the
seat I had no hinderance for many years. Had a 60 series done for 20 years and no problems with visibility, ordinary spray enamel sticking or roadworthy when I sold it.
Cheers
