Hi all,
Has any one stayed at
Hamelin Bay recently? Thinking of spending a week there in the middle of next month but reports on Badgers are not very encouraging.
Thanks
John & Helen

HI westskip- havent stayed there for 12 months. Ive stayed there many times over the years but after last time vowed never to go again. packed in to every nook and cranny at peak times. campsites poorly marked or not marked at all. The management make it up as they go along. The
campsite 'mudmap' is a waste of time - terribly inaccurate- even the managment confess to this.I could go on and on. Drove through a few months back- they look like they are putting in a lot of cabin style accomodation. Lots of building and construcion going on.The location itself is absolutely idyllic.Pity about the way the park is run. Doc.

hi westskip
havent stayed there for a while as i prefer turners caravan pk in
augusta
i believe that the managers dont stay there at night but keep this fact quiet so i was told and hence lack of control if there's a problem
however if you intend to go there prior to the
easter break then you should have a quiet time and be able to fully enjoy it if this is the case go with an open mind
unless you have early bookings like from last year you will struggle to get in anywhere for the
easter holidays as they shoe-horn them in particuly at
hamelin bay with no defined
parking space boundarys its always been like that
pity really and yes it is their intensions to just about saturate the park with cabins which reading from the above thread is now in progress
remember the report has only come from one person and although im not dis-crediting it some people want everything just how it suits them and their life style
i know that behavior is unwanted but it could happen anywhere thats why i suggested keeping an open mind if there was 10 bad reports on badgers about the
hamelin bay park then it would be loud and clear
i've met people in my travells who complain all the time about the least little thing but have found them to have their own annoying habits and are quiet oblivious to the fact
so thats life imho
cheers

Hi J & H
Be aware that Hamelin is part of a 'national Park' is seems - so no pets permitted. We recently visited
the beach parking area (before the park entry) and were chatted for having a dog with us - and yes there was a sign up but we hadn't read it so didn't complain when told to mosey along.
Not sure of the set up, but we planned on eating lunch in
the beach car park then checking the CP out for later prospective visits. Didn't investigate, or ask questions after being chatted, just headed back to
Augusta.
Cheers - Phil
