hi all, anyone had anything to do with electronic rust protection that really works, they all claim to work but there are loads out there and im sure some of them are rubbish,
any tips or tricks on the best paint or spray on stuff like fish oil or body deadener ,tar etc,,,,,a friend of
mine has a tourism business where there troopy sits on
the beach for most of the day whilst the punters go out on a boat trip,,then they get back in the troopy soaking wet with wetsuits on,the troopys just get eaten away within a couple of years,,have used fish oil etc,but you cant paint the whole car in the stuff and it doesnt seem to last as long as the old fish oil that you could buy years ago,any info appreciated

Edwin,
I have had an Erps unit for the last 10 years. When I have replied to other threads that I believe they work I have been told by others who don't have them that they don't. Guess I'm imagining the fact that the vehicle is 22 yrs old and has no rust.
We had a machine at work that had one fitted to it, the installation was done properly and the fitter that looked after the machine made sure it was working and no wires were broken, he left site for a good few months and in that time the rust proofing unit stopped working (broken wiring). To cut a long story short you could notice the difference in that time with rust breaking out.
One of the things that must be done is for it to be installed properly and units located in the correct
places on the machine, another thing is if you have rust already it will not get rid of it, to the contrary the rust will tend t break out in that spot. I had this happen in part of the roof caused by a heavy roof rack. Panelbeater said this was common if electronic rust prevention is fitted.
Have a good one.
