I am planning to approach WA from the east.

Contemplating going through the border check to Kunanurra, resupplying fruit and veg and then backtracking a little and going down the Duncan Road to Halls Creek.

Is there another checkpoint on the Duncan road to take my fruit and vegs off me that I bought at Kunanurra?

Hi Alan.

Generally speaking there is no checkpoint along that road. We did the whole length in 2006 and thought it brilliant. Some beautiful creeks and rivers to camp along. Last year we thoght that we'd just go down a few km to the first creek for a couple of nights but the road was horrific for corrugations and the creek was dry anyway.

After this years wet the creeks should all be full.

Make sure you keep your shopping docket , they do patrols in most areas up that way.

Not only your vegetables either. Be aware that your honey and honey products are also subject to quarantine oh and so are your cane toads. They don't like those at all.

Cheers Mick

Yes I have been checked on that road---apparently they do random checks. The road can be very corrugated so beware.

Hi Alan

They are usually very reasonable, as you are crossing the border several times on the Duncan Road. As said, keep your dockets (although in our case much of it was purchased at the Saturday markets in Kununurra so no dockets). The dates on your dockets will prove that you can't have purchased outside of WA in the time frame.

I am really bloody pleased that you are planning to approach WA from the east. from my knowledge of the area; approaching it from any other direction is likely to leave you with really wet feet. Ha Ha !!!

NO.
And you zig zag, across the border a few times.

Road itself in September 09 was suprisingly good.
Enjoy !
