My wife and I are thinking about going to Halls Creek for a short time.
.
My wife likes a couple of glasses of wine a week and I like a few beers and a few glasses of wine on the weekend.

I can see that there are severe alcohol restrictions in the town but can't see exactly what they are.

For example, can I bring bottles of wine into the town or buy bottles of wine at the bottle shop.

Any clarity on this subject would be appreciated.

Kimberley Hotel sells everything over the bar.
There's a takeway window out the back that sells
low strength beer (same as the bottle shop in town).
Big choice of 3 types of beer only, remember something like
Hahn Light, Carlton Light and was it 2.2?

You can bring your own supplies into town, just don't
sell it to the locals.

Boo Boo

If you do not advertise the fact that you are drinking real grog, then nobody will really give a dam.
On our big trip in '09 we would have a Burbon and Coke most nights, no matter where we were.

I would advise that you bring it in, otherwise it's low alcohol.

Cheers

After we came up the CSR last year we were out of stock. Only take away was light beer at $55 a carton. :O
We did have a few glasses of wine at the Kimberley Hotel.

You'll find "Bona fide travellers" are excempt from the majority of the alcohol restrictions in outback towns.
Halls Creek (in 07) still had a white and black bar at the hotel too.
