Stockton Beach

Hi, A question I need to ask !
We are staying at Nelson Bay for 3 days and been out to Stockton Beach at Anna Bay a few times sand driving,. I have read most of the threads that I can find about the beach, but the question is,can you drive along the beach from Anna Bay to Lavis lane ? as we live on the Central Coast this the way we would like to go home, as all this beach driving is practice for a trip we are planning to Fraser Island later in the year.
We have driven down the beach as far as Tin City (what a place) and want to see if the tank traps are visable and the ship wreck at southern end. We are travelling alone in a Pajero lowering tyre press. and carring recovery gear, snatch strap/ max tracks/shovel & uhf radio.
This is all new to us as we are newbies to this amount of sand driving, doing mainly outback roads and tracks
Thanks for your replies in advance
and yes there is rubbish left behind by none carring people, how hard is it to take it out with you

Tony,

Yes you can drive from Anna Bay to the ship wreck. Once you get to Tin City you can make your way off the beach and then drive the sand dunes.

The tank traps are hard to find and are not always vissable. Going past the Lavis Lane turn off you will get to the ship wreck which is now breaking up and rusting away.

At this point don't go any further south but return to the Lavis Lane exit, it should be marked.

Thanks for all the info from ALL, did the beach drive from Anna Bay to Lavis Lane this morning, as well as going through the sand hills great fun, did not see tank traps but may have passed by through the dunes ! The Signa is breaking up as was said but worth the visit. We were a bit hesitant at first but soon got into the swing of beach driving once the tyre press was lowered to 18/20psi all round. Will be going back for more!! The exit at Lavis Lane is chopped up and very soft at present but they were grading it this morning
The rubbish that people leave is bad ,they bring it in BUT it's to hard for them to take it out! plus it's left in garbage bags

Hi Tony As the previious post no problem and to be honest the sand driving on
Stockton beach and the sand hills is a lot harder than fraser is The exit to Lavis Lane is a line of white crosses in the sand hills to the north of the ship .Let the tyres down and into the hills they are fun.Peter

Tony,

This may be useful except the second page is upside down.
Stockton Beach Info
Was also up there a couple of months ago.
Lavis Lane beach entry has been moved to where the quads go in and there is now one track for the entry and one for the exit.

Yep they have certainly taken the challenge out of trans-versing Lavis Lane

Almost do it in a 2WD. I did say ALMOST.

Cheers
