Allan

I would not mind being stranded there for a couple of weeks
Mind you, we live close to the Prom, and it's not that cold yet.

Do not know what all the fuss is, just get supplies in, and leave when things are cleared.

Cheers

I am wondering what will happen to all the people's gear that is left over there.
How do they carry on with thier trips...are they stuck in limbo now until they can get back to collect it?

We were airlifted yesterday and did not have a choice of staying as the sewerage system pumps all flooded and the system was all backing up and the worry was raw sewerage in the park.
We now wait and see when we can recover our vehicle and van.
We were lucky, no damage but a lot of others suffered badly with drowned cars and vans.
It was also mainly the outstations they were worried about with lots of kids hiking and the trails washed out and the Oberon carpark road totalled.
Regards
Gary

On the Ecotourer Forum an owner posted
"We managed to wade out in chest deep water abandoning our ET and car to the flood." and "The high level water mark in our ET was just above the bench tops and what a mess we found. The road into Wilsons Prom has been cut and an emergency
evacuation was organised. Over 400 people including us were helicopted out. We
just had to leave the van and car. It will be several weeks or longer before
before the road and bridge are repaired and the park re opened to allow access
and recovery to begin."
