For those of you who use Coopers they are to release one and maybe two new tyres next month. The first is called an AT3, replacing the ATR, I believe, the second is called Discovery S/T Maxx.
Cooper Tyres
The AT3 will come out in a 245/70R16 LT which I believe is the only 245/70R16 LT in the Cooper range, as in more aggressive tread.
The main reason I am posting this is it is hard to find a 245/70R16 LT off road tyres. I want the Mickey Thompson ATZ 4 rib but they do not come in that size and to be legal on most 4WD utes these days.
Oh yes I am pretty happy with Coopers, I got 85,000 Ks out of my ST and now have 55,000 Ks on my MT MTZ.

Gets a bit sad browsing tyres only to be told time and again, we don't do that size.
I had to go 245/75 16 on the Colorado because I could not find a single MT in the 240 range.
I didn't
check the Mickey T's though.
Looks like we might be getting some options.

If your tyre placard reads 245/70R16 the biggest tyre you can fit is 255/70R16, and there is not a lot of AT/MT tyres in that range either. You keep hearing about the regulations being changed so we can go up 50mm in size but will it ever happen?

Yes, I'm unroadworthy at 245/75....... Bit silly really. I work around Bris airport where the scalies work all the time. I've been checked twice now and they haven't given them a second glance.
In years gone by I've had big (35's on a patrol etc) tyres and I've definitely noticed the effect they have on the braking system, but the coll has abs and ebd, the latter being something I'll never do without ever again - it's that good - especially when towing.

Bridgestone D694 have LT construction in both 245/70R16 and 255/70R16 sizes if you were interested in other options.

The AT3 looks a bit like Mickey Thompson ATZ.
Cooper don't seem to be following the trend in ATs of having a pattern with sweeping grooves (e.g. Bridgestone Dueller D694, Pirelli Scorpion ATR,
Dunlop Grandtrek AT3, Continental ContiCrossContact, etc).

That is one of the reasons I like Coopers and Mickey Thompson's, plus the good run I have had out of them.
