Haven't been here a while so my apologies. I recall a thread some years ago explaining a bush replacement for a thermister by drilling a hole etc. I am having my fridge done at the moment but would appreciate if anyone call recall this information for future issues.

Kind regards

What are you having done to your fridge? A thermistor replacement? And to fix what problem? The reason I ask is i've got the cf-80 and it's got the error light that flashes 3 times on hot days, so am thinking it may be the thermistor? But have been wondering how hard it is to replace yourself. (the fridge is out of warranty and local guys charge a lot just to look at it.)

3 flashes is Motor start error, rotor locked or diferential pressure to high. Faulty thermistor, compressor runs continuously & freezes.

But only on days 35 and above when the cars sitting out in the sun (so hotter in the car obviously.) Cool the car down inside and give it 10-15 mins and it's all good again. Don't need to turn it off and back on or anything. That's why i'm thinking thermistor.

more likely the motor is just oveheated. once it stops the fan also stops and the heatsoak will increase the temperature in the motor compartment.
similar to a vehicle engine when it stops and the coolant is no longer circulating.

Chris what you described should have been 5 Flashes. Thermal cut outof electronic unit. If the refrigeration unit has been to heavily loaded, or if the ambient temp is high, the electronic unit will run too hot. This is straight from the Danfoss spec sheet.

It's definitely 3 flashes. It's similar to when it flashes once (low batt.). I hear the compressor start and the fans go. Then it cuts out and the fans go faster. Even if I plug it into 240v it's still does it for 10-15 mins then seems to sort itself out (and the cars been cooled inside.)

Chris.
